Les Champions!

This year there was tremendous enthusiasm for the Bûche de Noël competition.  Fifteen students baked a total of 11 gorgeously decorated and delicious cakes.  The judges had a very difficult time deciding which were the best!  In the end we awarded prizes to the top 3 cakes in each category.  However, competition was fierce, with some cakes only a point away from the top 3!  Well done to all participants.  You can see the results below.

Le Deuxième Concours Annuel des Bûches de Noël!

It’s that time of year again - time to feast on tasty, festive, and delicious chocolate cake!  All French students are encouraged for the second year to enter the Bûche de Noël contest on Monday, December 17th. 

A Bûche de Noël is a cake that is generally prepared, presented, and garnished so as to look like a log ready for the fire. This dessert is a holiday tradition in several francophone countries including France, Belgium, Québec.

The students who prepare the cakes will also participate in the judging of the cakes, with the help of some carefully selected faculty members.  A prize will be awarded based on two categories: the Best Taste (Le Meilleur Goût) the Best Traditional Decoration (La Meilleure Décoration Traditionnelle).

Contest participants will automatically receive 50 Euros each for their participation.  The winners for each category will win an additional 50 Euros each.
